PROJECT 02 - Job Management system
This software was designed for a label printing company which has very specific requirements for producing quotations, and tracking jobs from initiation, through production until the goods are despatched. The company tried to use off-the-shelf software to manage the different parts of their workflow and found in the end they were wasting so much time trying to adapt to the different software requirements, and re-keying data.
QuayTech Solutions analysed their business processes and wrote a software application that would naturally support those processes.
A key part of the development was understanding the costing process and then designing a "wizard" to help the client produce quotes accurately and quickly, yet be flexible enough to adapt to changing business requirements.
The next part of the development was to provide a tracking system so management would know exactly where orders were in the production process. The final piece was a module to handle the despatch and invoicing of orders.
To increase efficiency further, the system was integrated with the company's financial system (Sage) to provide an automatic means to feed sales information through to the accounting system.
